As the name suggests, at our farm holiday centre it is still possible to enjoy
this typical and traditional Tuscan snack (Pane e Olio means “bread and oil”).
We are located in the heart of a wood (Bosco di Villa), where it is possible to
enjoy total peace and relaxation while enjoying the splendid panoramic views of
Garfagnana, from the Tuscan Emilian Apennines to the peaks of the Apuane Alps.
We are easy to reach: from Lucca, follow the signs to Garfagnana/Castelnuovo
Garfagnana. Then continue in the direction of Villa Collemandina.
There are 4 main buildings: our house, the Hansel apartment
(4+3 persons), the Gretel apartment (4+4 persons) and
the old Metato, which was once used to dry chestnuts and now serves as a reception
area. In the centre of it all is the old “farmyard”, where it is possible to eat
in summer and which is overlooked by the “cookery workshop” with its old wood-burning
oven.
The renovation work was carried out following the principles of bio-architecture
and totally respecting the characteristic architectural features of the area.
The accommodation, which has also been designed to suit disabled persons, has been
furnished with special care and excellent taste.
The end result is a house from days gone by that still offers all of today’s
amenities.
Each apartment also has its own pretty private area and parking spaces.
We also accept dogs and cats, who will find new friends here (Lillo, Greg, Gaippe and Lola).
The raising
In the farm there is a chicken farming and a raising
of goats "Camosciate delle Alpi" that furnish the
production of very good cheese.
Near the holiday farm (500 m. approximately) there
is a lake with pic-nic spaces and where fishing and
swimming are possible.
Near,there are Casone di Profecchia and Sant'Anna
Pelago where skiing and cross country skiing are
possible.
